House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

Lemonade Stand Lessons...

There is a lot of talk/books/seminars/etc. these days about "building community" and "community outreach" and "finding your community".
Save your money and host a lemonade stand!
Plan a spelling lesson for tomorrow...

And now we wait...

Measure, Mix and Mingle!

Here is my free tutorial:
1. Put the word out to your friends, neighbors, teachers, pastors, coaches early so they can plan accordingly.
2. Dress for the part -bust out Granny's aprons!
3. Make a day of it - sidewalk chalk invitations on neighbors front walkways! (Use caution with grumpy neighbors)
4. Prepare several back-up pitchers of lemonade so you aren't stuck inside during the fun!

I am a Chatty Kathy by nature, but for those of you Shy Sally's, this is a great way to meet your neighbors.

Around these parts, "Lemonade Stand" is code for "Drinks in the Driveway", "Responsibility Free Fridays" or "No Technology Tuesdays" (Don't take the fun out of it by making out with your iphone all night!)

  1. Thanks for the reminder! I've been meaning to let the girls set up a lemonade stand for awhile, and we just haven't gotten around to it yet. Great guidelines.

Thanks for joining my Weekend Bloggy Reading party (and for linking back!). :)

  2. Oh I miss these days. My little ones have summer jobs with fica deductions now. :) I remember doing this though and it was fun. I'm not sure they ever made enough money to really pay me back for the sugar and lemonade but still is was something I look back on with a smile. Thanks for sharing on Motivated Monday and for linking back.

  4. I am so the lady who stops and makes u-turns when I see little kids at their lemonade stands. But I'm not above swinging in a friends driveway for a brew or two!
