House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

An Outdoor Soiree...On A Budget!

I love parties.
I love the outdoors.
I love my family.
I love purdy things.
I love the beach.
This is my little soiree to bring all those things together. (I looooove to say "SOIREE!"  I'm convinced that it makes me sound fancy!)
I started with a folding table that I borrowed from a neighbor. (She not only loaned the table, but she also threw in some red velvet cake. The cake didn't survive long enough to be in the pictures...oops.)
Blah central...

For a tablecloth, I pulled out this old vintage bedspread. (Which came from The Restore for $3)
My "stagers" then raided my china cupboard for dishes and candlesticks while I went on a hunt for beachy pictures and seashells.

It's embarrassing how much I love the light spilling through the slipcovered chair.

Memories of a favorite beach trip...

Everything  was either borrowed or nabbed from my own yard, closets, and mantel!
Voilla!  We are ready to SOIREE our little selves silly!
