House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

Decorating For Fall, Y'all!

*I'm taking a look back (code for I haven't written any.freaking.thing for fall!) at last year's fall posts for inspiration! Remember this one?

Fall's Finest...
When I saw the quote "Taking the snobbery out of decorating" I immediately thought of my friend, Tracy.

While her house always looks fantastic, it never feels snooty. Tracy's home perfectly reflects her personality. It's fun, relaxed, and feisty!  (For example, when she passed me in her cute little Volvo today, she flipped me the big ole bird all the way by!)

While my big leap into fall decorating consisted of a single burlap wreath, Tracy went all out to welcome the new season. I feel like the Rhoda to her Mary.

Tracy's mother was visiting from California last week. Somewhere between soccer practices and games and homework and dinners and trips to the orchard, Tracy and her mother squeezed in some mother daughter decorating time!

Take a lookiloo at what they came up with!

Young Jack Sholem is the official greeter!

No one whips up a wreath like Tracy!

Be still my heart- shells in the fall!

Mantle Mania!

Camera shy Tracy caught tweaking!

Tracy's dining room table is passed down from her mother.

A beautiful wreath above the sink.

Keeping it real- "Funny Bones" indeed.

Maybe I can convince Tracy's mother to come for a visit to my house...in time to decorate for the holidays!
