House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

HouseTalkN's Top Bathrooms!

Sorry to have a potty mouth, but let's talk bathrooms!
I love a great bathroom as much as the next gal, but I am perplexed.

What makes us love our bathrooms so?
It isn't like we hang out in there for happy hour.
We don't congregate there at parties.
I don't serve orderves in there.
No Monday night football or HGTV.

I'm usually jumping (literally) in and out of the shower as quickly as I can, throwing on my make-up, taming my Tina Turner hair, throwing back my coffee, making ugly faces at anyone who dares to enter and I'm usually shouting things like  "Brush your lunch and pack your teeth!"

It's the bathtub.
It's got to be the bathtub.
At the end of the day, when everyone is snoozing, we love our bubble baths.  Throw in some candles, gin and tonic, and a good book- pure Nirvana!  We love our bathrooms for the promise of some peace and quiet in a bubble bath.

Here are some of HouseTalkN's favorite bathrooms:

My top bathroom elements:
-Big honkin' tubs.
-White, dove, ivory or maybe a bit of linen for the color schemes.
-Again, do not skimp on windows!  Go big or go home.
-Tile or marble floors.  Never, ever, under any circumstance, put carpet in a bathroom!

  1. I'm with you on the bathtubs- they've got to be big. Next to that I've got to have good lighting; it has to be pretty and make me look 10 years younger!

I have a tendency to mix up my words when I'm tired or rushed as well- I've always wondered why. We must confuse the heck out of people!

  2. We just renovated our previously-carpeted master bath. Let me tell you... if people wouldn't think I was strange, I would have a party in there. It's my favorite room in the house :)

  3. If my bathrooms looked like the ones above, I would never leave the house ... and I wouldn't mind cleaning them as much!
