House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

HouseTalkN Is PhotoTalkN

I am like a kitten with a shiny object. If I am listening to you tell a story looking at a photograph, my eye always wonders to the background..."ooh, pretty." I get distracted by the dishes in the background, the granite countertop or the purdy wallpaper, whatever. It doesn't take much to distract me.

To avoid the "shiny object" syndrome, I use a white posterboard as a backdrop in many of my blog photos. I first read this tip over at "Serenity Now! A Mommy's Solution To Staying Sane!"  Brilliant!

I don't even have to tidy up before the shots- I just pull out the poster board and VOILLA!

Take a lookiloo:

I took these items from a side table where the lighting was yuck...

I pulled my handy poster board out from under the couch...

Choose a room with a lot of natural light- my living room has become photo central!
There you have it, my big secret. My big tip! My big...oooh, what's that?
