House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

Open House Sunday...

That's it. From now on, I am implementing a "New Friend Contract." Any potential new friends must sign a "We will not move away" contract.
It's one thing to obsess over buying a new house for months or years in advance... ahem... but to relocate means ZIP, ZAM, ZOOM! You are in a new city before you can say "packing tape!"
Such is the case for my friend, Regina.
Our children go to the same schools. We became reluctant stage mothers for The Nutcracker together. Our daughters are great pals. We live in the same neighborhood. Our boys romp together.
Regina and her family are relocating back to Germany. Yes, that's right. GERMANY!
I am pretending to be excited for their new adventure but I am truly sad to see such a wonderful family leave our community.
In true Regina style, she is spending her last weeks in America enjoying her friends and family.
I stopped by her place yesterday to snap a few pictures to give all of you a sneak peek at her "almost for sale" house.

                                                                I love the brick street!

                                                                 The last of Regina's roses.
Nothing says "welcome" like a porch swing!

                                     The woodwork is beautiful!

If you are in the market for a charming 4 bedroom, foursquare with wood floors, french doors to the patio, gorgeous wood work, and in a great neighborhood- zip me a note.

  1. I am sad that your good friend is moving so far away. I have experienced the same sadness. No words can really make it easier. Keep in touch and plan a trip to Germany. You will LOVE it there. In the meantime, it's OK to grieve. Thinking about you.

  2. How could she leave that beautiful house?

  3. I just have to tell you, I've been floating around your blog for awhile, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your writing style.
    haha you are hilarious.
I assume you write how you talk..

loved reading all your posts :)

I hopped over here from tater tots and jello, I was linking up my project (a blingy white pumpkin) and saw your closet neat freak post. haha
I WISH I WAS A NEAT FREAK. really bad.
    but alas, I am not.
