House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

A Chair Affair...Take 2!

You might remember that I fell in lurve with these chairs during the height of my Pinterest addiction.
This image became my inspiration for my dream dining chairs.

AND, you might remember that I made a fool of myself when I found these Louis chairs at a neighbors yard sale.

I immediately began dreaming of Annie Sloan sending me buckets and buckets of her "French Linen" chalk paint. I would recover them in a lovely linen fabric sent to me from Martha Stewart and jazz up the back medallion with a funky fabric from Candice Olson.

Now that they are stripped down...mama likey! (I'm talking about the chairs, people!)
I think the opening on the chair back is fun and unexpected!

I know that I will chicken out and go forward with "Operation Reupholster!" BUT, I vow to keep this one (all nakey-snakey) in the living room until January 5th...'cause I'm wild like that.

  2. Nice! I likey too! Why come you find Louis chairs at yard sales and I just find baby toys and old toasters? No fair...

  3. Great idea for dining chairs. How lucky to find some at a garage sale!

  4. Your chairs are fabulous!!! I vote keep the back open!!! You would be doing a favor to the sitter to hold in those abs for a mini workout!!

  5. I think you should sit naked IN the naked chair. BAM. I just blew your mind, didn't I?

  6. Those chairs are gorgeous! I never find things like that at garage sales!

  7. I think guests like to see the unexpected. I love it! Just think if you kept it that way it would be much less work!

  8. Just darling!!! Love the back on this piece! (or lack of one)

  10. I love this chair. I have a French chair that we stripped the fabric off of and the cardboard under the back of it is wonky and needs a professional intervention. If I remove the cardboard backing, I could do the seat myself. What a great idea. I love the openess of it. Wonderful job!

  11. Thanks for sharing your chairs at my Show & Tell party!

  12. Great look!! Following you from thrifty decor chick-stop by for a visit!!
