House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

I Used To Be Normal.

*This is a re-run because I am sharing my dog crazy In The Powder Room today. Meet me there.

I have officially become the crazy dog lady.
I used to make fun of crazy pet people.
I talk in crazy dog speak.
I let my dog on the furniture.
I let the dog sleep with us.
I created a new category on my HOUSE blog called "DogTalkN!"
I send friends and family photo shows of.the.freaking.dog.
I am one step away from knitting matching sweaters for myself and the dog. The only thing holding me back is that whole knitting thing.
The doggie prince left muddy footprints on my white slipcover and while my children ran for cover, I ran for my camera. Must document each and every widdle cute thing he does.
I used to be normal.
BEFORE DOG
So, it's only fitting that my first "Vlog" is of my dog, Big George.

AFTER DOG

I am now the person that makes you feel better about yourself. You're welcome.

Hubby - well, he can sleep on the floor, Diesel needs to be in bed :) Diesel can walk into the house with muddy paws and it is totally ok, children on the other hand SHOULD KNOW BETTER. I mean really... - shouldn't they?
Have a great day Kerry, and you too, Big George::

  7. Matt and I had a really good chuckle over that video last night :) You need to send some of that dog love over to our house - Mika has recently reverted back to her puppy bathroom habits (aka, in the house) and we are about to pull our hair out! Maybe we just need to come visit you and George and we'll feel all mushy mushy again :) We miss you guys!! -Jenna

  19. You may not know this, but about a year ago I started to talk about being the crazy cat lady (every neighborhood's got one!) It took me until November to get the cats. Now? I treat them like they are my kids. Heck, I treat them BETTER than my kids. Mainly because they don't ask for money.

  20. Genius. I love the matching head scarves. Every year I make my Pups dress up in matching Christmas hats for annual photo. This year I'm getting a hat too.

  21. Hi

Great to meet you - I found you on the Monday Mischief Blog Hop :)

I love the look on Big George's Face in the video - "Nope, I have no idea at all what she's saying - honestly, she never used to be this crazy!!"

Don't worry - my Mum has been told many times by her sister that she used to be 'normal' - apparently the turning point for her was when my blog was started - now she's also in your crazy gang! :) But she's smiling - so that's good.....

Have fun fellow crazy - anyway, who wants to be 'normal'?! :)

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  25. haha Awesome! Even George looks a little like he is rolling his eyes! He is not though, and neither are the rest of us! Normal is overrated, and being a crazy pet person is actually quite sane! I would not want to be any other way :)

  27. More people will understand baby talk to a fuzzy Golden Retriever than to a stone cottage with a slate roof surrounded by shade trees. Just saying... I think you've made a good decision here.

Thanks for the link love. Would you be surprised to know I also have a blog for first time home buyers?

  28. Sad to say you are not the only crazy dog lady out there. Our dogs now have their own room, it used to be my son's room, but he is now out on his own and they needed the space and the window, we refer to the remodeled downstairs bath as the dogs bathroom, and decorated it as such, and they even have their own car, an old van that's great for hauling stuff and taking the dogs to the woods hiking and bringing us all home muddy. But my husband thinks the dogs shouldn't sleep on the bed, so they have learned to get on the bed very gently after he is asleep. And some folks think dogs are not smart!

  29. OMG. Those are two goodlookin' blondes right there. Georgie porgie is so stinkin' cute I would have to talk like that to him too! LOVED IT.

  30. Could that Georgie be any cuter?!!! I am one step behind you...I become crazy-dog-lady in 8 days!! George looks like SUCH a sweetheart. I am so glad we are getting a golden too! Have fun snuggling!

  31. Matching sweaters!! OMG why didn't I think of that?! I figured matching nail polish was a good place to start....along with the bling collar to match my necklace. But matchy matchy sweaters are definitely taking it to the next level. You're my new hero. xoxo

  36. Hilarious!! I keep having my dogs die...WHY?? Maybe because they never wore scarves...or I didn't love them enough....OMG...the sleepless nights and guilt...

  37. Oh that sweet George! Don't feel bad, I am a crazy dog person too - ever since my Rosie came along! I used to cringe if I found one dog hair at someone's house. Now I will be snuggling her and afterwards my shirt is all white. I'll be like, "Looks like my baby needs to be brushed"...instead of "get me outta here!" I let her get away with so much more than I ever imagined. Glad to see I am not alone...

  40. I'm one of those dog crazy people you talk about, too. I had pets growing up, but they were outside pets. Then I grew up and got dogs for my kids. Or so I thought. Now I'M the nutty one breaking every rule I used to have for maintaining a clean house, and all decisions regarding vacations or even day trips consider the dogs. I'm not quite sure how it happened. I went from my grandmother's granddaughter (by all means animals go outside, no fur on floor, and drool...ugh just let me gag) to the crazy dog lady (dogs - inside, everywhere, upstairs, downstairs, on the bed, fur EVERYWHERE). I'm much happier now. :)

    1. This sounds familiar! I grew up in farm country- animals are meant to work or meant for dinner. My extended family must be horrified when they see my dog ruling the roost around here!
      Thanks, Sherri!
