House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

A Valentine Loser...

I have never...ever...not once...decorated for Valentine's Day.
This is a black mark on my blogging street cred.
Tsk...Tsk...bad blogger, baaaad.
All the big girl bloggers have been showing off featuring their "Valentine Mantles" and their handmade, personally whittled decorations or homegrown, organic, hybrid pink wool matching outfits for the whole family...monogrammed with "We love each other sooo much!" (Which my ear interprets as "You suck")
The situation required some retail therapy research. I called on the experts at Checkered Moon for help!
Take a lookiloo.

Do you decorate for Valentine's Day or are you counting the days until you can decorate for spring?

  1. I adore the bicycle towel. I love those tea cups, but hate the heart-shaped saucers. If it fit into the style of my house, I would totally have that "your day will go..." sign hanging in my kitchen. Okay, who am I fooling. My house has no style. I should just get the sign.

The extent of my Valentine's decor is hanging two wine-themed kitchen towels over the oven door handle. I consider them to be Valentine's towels, because they were a wedding shower gift (love) and they are red.
I just don't care much about Valentine's Day and I've never had a budget for decorations. Also, my anniversary is Feb 3rd, so I've already done the lovey-dovey crap a couple weeks before Valentine's Day arrives.

    That's all.

  2. Not a big fan o' makes me want to don my earbuds and sing "Rox-Anne! You don't have to..." But I do give my sweetie a card and we drink some wine. Spring starts so early here that I can get away with skipping VD. (Which is another story for another day. "How I Skipped VD")

  3. Proud to not be a Valentine decorator. Too much pressure for one day. I only decorate for seasons. That rainbow tea set could work through the spring... And those red tassels are sumptuous to warm up winter... hmmm

  4. Me-I'm ready for the pastels and just skip February 14. Besides when one decorates at school for the kids, who has time or the desire to do it all over again at home? I'm lucky I get my Christmas stuff put away by the 14th, anyway.♥♫

  5. I've never been a heart day decorator, but I get to blame it one the fact that my house is filled with boys. I have no one here to appreciate all the pink and red!

  6. I always decorate for the holidays. And I started doing that when I had my son. He used to get really into it but now, meh. He is like Okay Mom, cute. LOL

  7. I've never decorated for Valentines Day either. Just not my thing. I'm not a big seasonal decorator, plus a house full of boys doesn't care anyway.
I do like the items in this could almost make me want to decorate my mantel. :)

  8. I'm with you - never have decorated for Valentine's day, though I have crocheted a few adorable little hearts this year. Yep, that's the extent of my nod to Valentine's.

  9. Ok... I NEED the "restraint" pict you have on here!! Like really... tell me how to get it!!

  10. I don't decorate for Valentine's either. I DO set a Valentine's table usually, especially if we have company. That's about it, oh, and I do have a V's wreath that I will hang tomorrow on the front door. XO, Pinky

  11. All those things are gorgeous....I want it all! Especially the tea cups (though they're not big enough for a me-sized cup of tea, haha)

I don't decorate for Valentine's either! To be honest the only seasons/events I decorate for are Christmas and Halloween; I live with my parents so am limited to my decorating really.

  12. We made some paper heart chains. In very non-Valentines Day paper. I just like the V-day candy. That is about as crazy as I get. Your posts are always so fun and put a big ole smile on my face! Thanks for sharing with us at Link It Up Thursday.

  13. Oh, I think your street cred is solid, sistah!

  14. I saw you on Tater Tots and Jello. Would you please be willing to share this fabulous post with my readers for Fun Stuff Fridays?
