House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

A Mom Battles ALS...

There is something special about seeing women and girls around town wearing "trillium necklaces."
Women and girls who may or may not know each other but share a common connection.
Women and girls who want to show support for Tricia Evans, a local mom who is battling ALS.
My two girls and I visited Checkered Moon today and each picked our own necklaces.

  1. I'm really glad you shared these links. I read her article and couldn't hold back the tears. My grandfather died in 1995 from ALS and I've never gotten over it. I am very sensitive about ALS and sympathetic to the people who suffer from it. It is such a horrible disease. Just awful. One day my grandpa was healthy and living a very active lifestyle as a professor at a University, then the next moment he was in a wheel chair, then bound to the bed, then he passed. From diagnosis to death was 3 years. I hate ALS and pray there will be a cure for it soon.

  2. What a touching story and an amazing show of support and solidarity!

  3. So touching. I was an Occupational Therapist and treated a few patients with ALS in my short career before my daughter was born. It was heartbreaking to watch. My heart goes out to that family. Thanks for sharing the story...

  4. What a touching story about a beautiful family. Certainly adding them to my prayer list. Thanks for sharing over at Flip Flops and Pearls today. Glad to stop over and poke around your blog a bit. Have a good week.
