House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

A Cottage Tour...

I love women's relationships.
My life is filled with sisters, sister-in-laws, and gal pals that make my life so colorful.
I had the privilege to spend the afternoon with two women whose friendship has withstood the test of time... and remodels!
While Taya is Barbara's designer, it is clear that Barbara's home has been a collaboration between artists. Barbara's art pieces can be seen hanging on the walls and Taya's art can be seen in the rich textiles.
They finish each other's sentences and they are each quick to point out the other's accomplishments.
The attention to detail and quality speaks for itself.
Enjoy this house tour in photos...

The Gothic archways have been repeated throughout the house- from custom designed windows, to the master bedroom closets, to the hallway archways.

Throughout the house, there are travel treasures, refurbished finds and
family pieces...the basement is no exception.

Stay tuned- Barbara's home has so many gorgeous light fixtures that tomorrow's post is all about her

  6. That is a seriously incredible home!! The basement was such an unexpected surprise and totally "un-basement-y". :-) I loved the fabric on the seat cushions in the dining room and the pop of color they bring. Can I come hang out with you guys over there? ;-)

  7. Lovely. I lived in C-U for 15 years and admired that house from the street SO MANY times! Most of the houses in C-U I loved, I'd been in before, but I never knew the owners of that one. Thanks for the peek inside.
