I don't know about you, but I often set the table like this:
"Y'all grab a paper plate and meet me at the table!"
So...when you get the chance to have a grown up par-taay or a romantic dinner for two, go wild. Dust off Grandma's china, polish the silver and bust out the goblets!
Take a lookiloo at my gal pal, Tracy's big girl tablescape.
When was the last time you set a big girl tablescape? (Mine was circa 1997!)

Thanksgiving 2002, I believe! How many times have we used our wedding china? Let's see ...
ReplyDeleteI'll get it out again as soon as I clean off that dining room table!
Let's set up a BQ buffet in your new breezeway??
DeleteLOL! Ummm...sometime during the Holidays? :-) I would love to do a big girl tablescape but that would probably require me to change out of my sweats, right? The one your friend did is absolutely gorgeous though and I loved the floral arrangement!

It would take more than a big girl tablescape to get me out of my ratty yoga pants!
DeleteThanks, Vanessa!
This is so beautiful. Love that tablecloth and the colours. Mmm. Very pretty. Our last tablescape? Christmas I guess.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terry!
DeleteI haven't set a pretty table at home for a while, but did set a table at a ladies luncheon brunch a week ago
ReplyDeletei do like to do that once in a while at home just for myself
I love a ladies luncheon! You can be as girlie as you desire!
DeleteOh my! Its so pretty! my 2 boys ages 2 & 3.5 would destroy it, and my hubby would come sit at the table stinking of jet fuel...sigh...I miss my girly days!
ReplyDeleteHA! You are surrounded by boys! I have 2 boys, 2 girls, a dog and a hubby. Fancy tablescapes are few and far between!
DeleteSo lovely! Beautiful table setting :)

Greetings from Australia♥

Hi, Pernilla! Thank you so much for popping by. It makes me happy to see your "greetings from Australia" !
DeleteHow pretty! I try to have my daughter's family over at least once a month for a very "dressed" table....sometimes whimsical. I use my china about twice a year.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so jealous! My sister lives 3 doors from our mother and they have Sunday dinners...that sounds like Heaven!
DeleteThank you, Martha!
Thanks for this post, theres not a lot of how tos on setting tables anymore, but I love to have dinner parties and setting the table is the best bit about it for me. Decorating and putting out all the glasses and cutlery.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle! We never get tired of dress up and tea parties, huh?
