House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

Summer Is Near...

I love summer.
I love the heat. I love the baseball. I love the gardening. I love the water. I love the rains. I love the family trips. I love the smell of sunscreen. I love the long stretch of endless days filled with bike rides, lazy walks to the park, sprinklers, parades and fireworks.
Two things that tell me summer is near- hosta buds and adirondack chairs.
While hauling my chairs to the front lawn (yes, I am that hillbilly with chairs on the front lawn) I noticed my hosta buds.
Visions of happy hours to come danced in my head.
This is where I will be happiest this summer. I will sit here with my mister or my besties or both and we will go over the day events and tease each other mercilessly while seemingly thousands of neighborhood children play capture the flag.

Summer is near.

  1. What a cute and promising post....though I am big time NOT a fan of summer. I would pick fall first, then spring, then winter then summer last.

I love the flowers and LOVE the fresh fruit and vegetables, but the heat. It is unbearable and I seldome spend much time in it for the agony.

I need more trees to shade things up more around here. No hostas due to no shade, and no hostas due to a LOT of deer in the woods surrounding

Love your post and your chairs and your hope for summer, truly I DO!!

    1. Michele! You need a midwestern summer to cure this problem!

    1. Hey, Sarcasm Goddess! My worlds are colliding seeing your jazzy avatar here!
      Thank you!

  3. Love the chairs- makes me want to sit in your garden!

  4. *sigh* Kerry, you have disappointed me. I was picturing your lawn chairs to be of the aluminum tubing/plastic webbing ilk. The kind that need to be unfolded? From the 60s. Not for the style, mind you, but for the irony.
    Oh well.
I love summer too--not the heat, but the fact that school's out. For Summer. School's out...for ever. School's...Sorry. I just lost my mind there for a moment.

  5. Oooh, hostas already. Ours are still quite asleep so I am going to be pretending that yours are mine. Pretty, pretty hostas.

    1. I have gone hosta crazy, Terry! Now that we have a dog, I am hoping that the bunny buffet line is closed!

  6. This looks great! I look forward to seeing you at My Dream Canvas.

  7. Beautiful photos!!

I'd love if you would share this on Thingamajig Thursday going on now...
