House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

A STENCIL GIVEAWAY!

Last week, I shared that this is the "Summer Of The Bedroom Switch-a-roo" at my house.
I boohoo'd about saying "Goodbye, Peter Rabbit" and I shared my daughter's snazzy bedroom makeover.
My nine year old daughter supplied this Country Living bedroom as her "inspiration piece".
I thanked Baby Jesus that she didn't want something along these lines.

As luck would have it, Cutting Edge Stencils had just offered a stencil for moi to try out.
They offered advice and guidance.
I believe their exact words were:
"It may be easiest to do a simple non-interlocking design as your first try."
Two things that the Cutting Edge Stencil folks did not
know about me.
1. My life motto is "Go Big Or Go Home."
2. I just don't listen. Just ask my pops.
I, of course, chose the interlocking nightmare stencil.
To be exact, I fell in love with their Marrakech Trellis Allover Stencil!
The stencil arrived.
I examined the stencil.
I read the instructions.
I had a beer.
I called my pops.
My pops, his wife and my sister mafia arrived one
week later. I had mentioned that "wouldn't it be fun to
makeover some rooms...maybe paint a bit?"
(Check out those shenanigans and more pictures, click here.)
While I hid rearranged my jewelry drawer, my stepmom accepted the stencil challenge.
BEFORE
DURING
AFTER!
We said "WOW!" no less than 892 times. My stepmom added a few words of her own.
NOW, IT IS YOUR TURN!
Cutting Edge Stencils is giving ONE OF YOU the wall stencil of your choice!
It is easy peasy to enter this giveaway!
Visit their site, Cutting Edge Stencils, and leave a comment here sharing which of their stencils you would love to have!
(You must live in the US and you must choose a stencil that is $50 or less)

As for the giveaway, I think I like the Japanese maple branch. Not your typical stencil, but in the right place, it would be awesome.

  18. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I think I just said "Holy Crap!" 892 times upon seeing the After picture. Congrats on the great job! Holy Crap! Hard to choose a fave stencil, but I love their paisley design as well as one of their inspiration pics that shows different-colored paisleys (plural? LOL) overlapping one another on a wall. That looks cool!

I can't wait to see what you do with your stencil!

  22. Love the Casablanca all over stencil. I did a similar design in my pantry which is one of my favorite "rooms". The sad part is it took me over 8 hours to handpaint the design..that's right, no stencil was used for that project. But the look is great. I should invite you over sometime to see it.. We only live about 20 min from you!
