House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

My Name Is Kerry and I Was A Teenage Moron

Usually, when I think of my teenage years, I try to focus on memories that make me smile. Dirty Dancing, big hair, blue eyeshadow, The Go-Go's, or MC Hammer pants.
Sometimes, no matter how I hard I reach for my happy place called "denial," I remember my cringe-worthy moments. Sadly, there is no shortage of moronic moments.
It's true. I was a moron. A big haired, blue eye shadowed, hammer pants wearing moron.
Twenty years later and I still want to offer an apology to anyone that knew me during the moron years.
I'm telling all about it In The Powder Room today. Help a sister out. Meet me there. Tell me your cringe worthy memory.
I'll just be here...watching Dirty Dancing...writing letters of apology.

  1. Hi Kerry,
I posted a comment on In The Powder Room. I was looking at houses and different ideas for my bathroom and came across your website. I thought that cannot be the Kerry I knew?? It was. I enjoy your blog!

  3. This is so weird. I've been thinking about writing an apology letter to myself 20 years ago. The difference is, I was so smart then and I'm a moron now.

  4. As a "mature" sophomore I thought you were the coolest person alive. I was also very worried that my HS past would come back to haunt me and everyone would know the obscure wierd shit I did when I was 15 and then I would turn into a social parish... did we do something to deserve this? I'd have bloody knuckles from all the doors I would be knocking on,! What will we say in the next 20 yrs....
" mean girls go far in HS. Kind women go far in LIFE".

    1. Christine! NO WAY! Me???? I'm so happy to know that someone thought I was cool! I have the same nightmare! Maybe I'll just run a public apology in the Liberty Herald? More importantly, how the heck are you? Are you on Facebook? Let's catch up there!
