House TalkN is a fun lookiloo at houses, houses, houses. It will answer pressing questions like, "When folks build a McMansion on a small lot, what are they compensating for?" or "Was the real estate agent drunk when they staged this house?" or "Why don't the Smiths' ever leave their drapes open when I am on a harmless walk-by?"

Bringing The Dickie Back!

Here at HouseTalkN, we aren't just about houses. We love to talk fashion, too!
This week, we are sharing our new venture: "DICKIE-DO!"
"Dickie Do" is a movement to BRING BACK THE DICKIE! No more "Don't do the Dickie!" We are all about "Do the Dickie!"
Some folks in Hollywood gave the Dickie a bad name.

Take a look at the new Dickie- out and about with the Dickie!
Amy from The Momologist knows that sometimes, while you are facing mundane housework, you just need a little Dickie.
Now that the kids are back in school, a Dickie with a friend
is just what moms need!
brought the big ole dickie!
Kim from Let Me Start By Saying knows
 all about the fancy Dickie!
Dickies aren't just for the ladies! Lots of fellas love their Dickies!
How about you? Do you have a Dickie in your drawer?
Bring it out and show it off!

  3. The dickie is so those of us in the south can wear pretend to wear the cute fall fashions without drowning in sweat. You try stylish layers when it's still sweltering outside!

    1. You'd need one in that fabric used for athletic clothing that whisks away the sweat. lol

    1. Getting your hair caught in the Dickie is a NO-NO! The Dickie is a do but the hair is a no!

  11. I remember being a kid and I couldn't wait to get older so I could wear a dickie instead of a whole shirt under my too-low-cut-for-church dresses. I thought they were " like totally cool" . But by the time I was old enough, I couldn't find any. The dickies were all in the wear-less protection program or something. I live in Texas, 90℉ in December one day, 20℉ the next and trying to wear turtlenecks and having huge dairyfactories on your chest just don't mix. I say bring back the dickies!

    1. I'm familiar with the dairyfactory chest! Long live the Dickie!

  12. Some people like stiff dickies, but on windy days, your dickie could hurt you. You could get a black eye. So there is an argument for floppy dickies, even if they need frequent adjusting on windy days or when you are riding your bike.

A Dickie..no matter the size, shape or pattern..should be brought out and worn, played with a little, passed amongst friends then put back away until next time. That is how you show a good Dickie appreciation.SO GLAD to see them being brought out and talked about again! 20. I like big dickies and I cannot lie. I liked Susan's super sized dickie. If I'm going to rock a dickie, I want to make sure it's big enough for everyone to see. I enjoy causing dickie envy where ever I go.

  23. Had to get my Kerry-fix and watch this great video! If someone asks "what is a dickie?" you KNOW they are much younger...dickies were THE BOMB way back when. I had watched "Griswold Christmas" several times before I realized that the cousin's dickie shows through his white sweater...how great.

  26. I remember my first dickie.. it was uncomfortable and I wasn't sure I knew what to do with one. I often gagged and grabbed at my throat. I was a dickie disaster! But practice makes perfect and soon my dickie skills were legendary. Now I'm a dickie diva!

  27. I'm a little hungover this morning and I knew I had to start my day with the Dickie video. Btw, I've been playing around with google Adsense on my blog and guess who's ads are now popping up... Dickies, inc. as in the pants. I guess google Adsense doesn't have a filter to weed out satire.

  29. I took my stepdaughter shopping at a teen store. They had dickies, I kid you not. And she was all into them. I think moms should leave dickies to the teens, we just are too old for them.

  30. This is my advice to any girl who is lucky enough to get a black dickie like I did one weekend back in college: Hide it from your friends, or else they will be begging you to borrow it and try it on for size. I had to tell them to find their own black dickie.
